REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

WARNINGS:

• To avoid accidental deployment, the Restraints Control Module (RCM) backup power supply must be depleted. Wait at least 1 minutes after disconnecting the startup battery ground cable(s) before doing any repair or adjustment to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS), or any component(s) adjacent to the SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal injury.
• Do not probe the SRS electrical connectors.

NOTES:

• This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.
• This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

1. Remove the front row seat.

2. Make the SRS safe.

3.

Release the 2 lower backrest cover clips.

4.

• Release the 3 lower backrest clips.
• Release the backrest cover from the 5 clips.
• Remove the backrest cover as illustrated.

Remove the 2 right side seat cushion clips.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles with power seats

6.

• Disconnect the electrical connector.
• Remove the 4 screws.
• Remove the front row seat switchpack.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles without power seats

7.

• Remove the 3 screws.
• Remove the front row seat switchpack.

8.

• Remove the 2 bolts.
• Remove the front row seat height adjustment lever.

9.

• Release the trim cover from the 4 clips.
• Remove the manual height adjustment handle cover.

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

10.

• Remove the 6 screws.
• Remove the side trim support bracket.

11.

• Remove the screw.
• Remove the side trim panel in the direction illustrated.

12.

Release the 3 seat cushion cover clips.

13.

NOTE: If equipped.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the seat cushion heater element.

14.

NOTE: If equipped.

Disconnect the electrical connector from the Occupant Classification Sensor Control Module (OCS) .

15.

Release the 3 right side seat cushion clips.

16.

Release the 5 left side seat cushion clips.

17.

Release the seat cushion cover front clip.

NOTES:

• Do not disassemble further if component if removed for access only.
• Note the orientation of the wiring harness prior to removal.

Remove the front seat cushion assembly.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles with climate controlled seats

Use a suitable tool to remove and discard the 14 hog rings.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles without climate controlled seats

20.

Use a suitable tool to remove and discard the 15 hog rings.

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

21.

Remove the front row seat cushion cover.

INSTALLATION

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

1. Install the front row seat cushion cover.

2.

NOTES:

• Make sure that new hog rings are installed.
• Use hog ring pliers to close the hog rings. Do not use any other tool. The hog rings must be closed to overlap as illustrated.

Renew Part: Hog rings Quantity: 15.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles with climate controlled seats

3.

Install 14 new hog rings in the sequence illustrated.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles without climate controlled seats

4.

Install 15 new hog rings in the sequence illustrated.

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

5. Install the front seat cushion assembly.

6. Install the 5 left side seat cushion clips.

7. Install the 3 right side seat cushion clips.

8. Install the seat cushion cover front clip.

9.

NOTE: If equipped.

Connect the electrical connector to the OCS.

10.

NOTE: If equipped.

Connect the electrical connector to the seat cushion heater element .

11. Install the 3 seat cushion cover clips.

12.

• Install the side trim panel.
• Install and tighten the screw.

13.

• Install the side trim support bracket.
• Install and tighten the 6 screws.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles with power seats

14.

• Install the front row seat switchpack.
• Install and tighten the 4 screws.
• Connect the electrical connector.

The following step(s) applies to: Vehicles without power seats

15. Install the manual height adjustment handle cover to the 4 clips.

16.

• Install the front row seat height adjustment lever.
• Install and tighten the 2 bolts.

  Torque: 5Nm

17.

• Install the front row seat switchpack.
• Install and tighten the 3 screws.

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

18. Install the 2 right side seat cushion clips.

19.

• Install the backrest cover as illustrated.
• Install the backrest cover to the 5 clips.
• Install the 3 lower backrest clips.

20. Install the 2 lower backrest cover clips.

21. Install the front row seat.

22. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
