REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
WARNING:
- Take extra care when handling Supplementary Restraint System (SRS)
components.
- To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury, the
backup power supply must be depleted
before repairing or replacing any airbag SRS components. To deplete the
backup power supply energy,
disconnect the battery ground cable and wait for 1 minute. Failure to follow
this instruction may result in
personal injury.
- To minimize the possibility of premature deployment, do not use radio
key code savers when working on
the SRS. Failure to follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
- Do not probe SRS electrical connectors.
CAUTION:
Do not use excessive force to remove the component. Make sure that all fixings
are fully released.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
2. Remove the Steering Column.
3. Remove the Instrument Panel Cluster Control Module (IPC).
4. Remove the instrument panel lower trim panel.

NOTE:
Repeat the step for the other side.
Remove the A-pillar trim panel.
6. Remove the instrument panel bass speaker.
7.
Remove the screw.
8.
Remove the screw.
9.
- Release the 8 clips.
- Remove the instrument panel passenger trim panel.
10.
Remove the screw.
11.
Remove the screw.
12.
Remove the 2 drivers side instrument panel upper screws.
13.
Remove the 2 passenger side instrument panel upper screws.
14.
Remove the 4 support bracket screws.
15.
- Release the 6 clips.
- Remove the instrument panel upper surround trim.
16.
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Release the 4 clips.
- Remove the touchscreen.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the touchscreen.

CAUTION:
Take extra care not to damage the component.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Release the Integrated Control Panel (ICP) trim.
18.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the 2 switches.
- Remove the ICP trim.
19.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Remove the touchscreen bracket.
20.
- Remove the screw.
- Disconnect the ground cable.
21.
- Remove the vent screw.
- Release the 4 clips.
- Remove the driver side vent.
- Remove the 4 IPC bracket screws.
- Remove the IPC bracket.
22.
- Remove the vent screw.
- Release the 4 clips.
- Remove the passenger side vent.
23.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- With assistance, release the instrument panel upper trim panel.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- With assistance, remove the instrument panel upper trim panel.

NOTE:
Only complete the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the electrical connector clip.
- Remove the center vent.
25.
- Remove the 5 screws
- Remove the instrument panel support bracket.
26.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the passenger face air duct.
27.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the driver face air duct.
28.
- Disconnect the 5 electrical connectors.
- Carefully release the 4 clips.
- Remove the instrument panel wiring harness.
29.
- Release the 4 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the instrument panel speaker wiring harness.
30.
- Remove the 9 screws.
- Remove the center air duct.
INSTALLATION
1.
NOTE:
Only do step 1 to 6 if the components were previously removed.
- Install the center air duct.
- Install and tighten the 9 screws.
Torque: 4Nm
2.
- Install the instrument panel speaker wiring harness.
- Install the 4 wiring harness clips.
3.
- Install the instrument panel wiring harness.
- Install the 4 wiring harness clips.
- Connect the 5 electrical connectors to the instrument panel upper trim
panel.
4.
- Install the driver face air duct.
- Install the passenger face air duct.
- Install and tighten the 2 screws.
Torque: 4Nm
5.
- Install the instrument panel support bracket.
- Install and tighten the 5 screws.
Torque: 1.5Nm
6.
- Install the center vent.
- Install the electrical connector clip.
- Connect the electrical connector to the center vent.
- Install and tighten the 2 screws.
Torque: 5Nm
7.
CAUTION:
Make sure the wiring harness and electrical connectors are not damaged during
this operation.
- With assistance, reposition the instrument panel upper trim panel.
- Connect the 3 electrical connectors to instrument panel upper trim
panel.
- With assistance, install the instrument panel upper trim panel.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
Torque: 12Nm
8.
- Install the passenger side vent.
- Install the 4 clips.
- Install the driver side vent.
- Install the 4 clips.
- Install and tighten the 2 screws.
Torque: 5Nm
9.
- Install the IPC bracket.
- Install and tighten the 4 screws.
Torque: 4Nm
10.
- Reposition the ground cable into the correct position.
- Install and tighten the screw.
Torque: 10Nm
11.
- Install the touchscreen bracket.
- Install and tighten the 2 screws.
Torque: 4Nm
12.
- Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the ICP trim.
- Install the ICP trim.
- Install the 2 clips.
13.
- Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the touchscreen.
- Install the touchscreen.
- Install the 4 clips.
- Install and tighten the 4 screws.
14.
- Install the instrument panel upper surround trim.
- Install the 6 clips.
- Install and tighten the 4 screws to support bracket.
Torque: 1.7Nm
- Install and tighten the 6 upper screws to instrument panel upper
surround trim.
Torque: 1.7Nm
15.
- Install the instrument panel passenger trim panel.
- Install the 8 clips.
16. Install and tighten the 2 instrument panel upper trim panel screws.
Torque: 12Nm
17. Install the instrument panel bass speaker.
18.
NOTE:
Repeat the step for the other side.
Install the A-pillar trim panel.
19. Install the instrument panel lower trim panel.
20. Install the IPC.
21. Install the steering column.
22. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
