REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Before the disconnection or removal of any components, make sure the area around
joint faces and
connections are clean. Plug any open connections to prevent contamination.
NOTES:
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations for left side components, right
side components are similar.

WARNING:
Take extra care that the brake pedal is not pressed during the replacement
procedure. Failure to
follow this instruction might result in personal injury.
NOTE:
This step is only required if the JLR diagnostic equipment is not available.
Set the EPB to the maintenance position.
3. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
4. Remove the rear wheel and tire.
5.
NOTE:
RH side only.
- Disconnect the brake pad wear sensor from the brake pad.
- Release the grommet.
6.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the 2 brake caliper slide pins.
- Remove the brake caliper.
7. Remove and discard the brake hose.
8.
NOTE:
Only complete the following step(s) if a new component is to be installed.
- Remove and discard the 2 bolts.
- Remove the EPB actuator from the brake caliper.
- Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
INSTALLATION
1.
NOTE:
Only complete the following step(s) if the component was previously removed.
2.
- Connect the EPB electrical connector.
- Install the brake caliper.
- Install and tighten the 2 brake caliper slide pins.
Torque: 35Nm
3. Install the rear brake hose.
4.
NOTE:
Right side only.
- Connect the brake pad wear sensor to the brake pad.
- Secure the brake pad wear sensor wiring harness.
5. Bleed the brake system.
6. Install the rear wheel and tire.
7.
NOTE:
This step is only required if the JLR diagnostic equipment is not available.
Disable the EPB maintenance mode.
