REMOVAL
WARNING:
Observe due care when working near a hot exhaust system.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustration depending
on the vehicle specification, but
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
2. Remove the exhaust system.
3. Remove the starter motor.
4. Remove the engine cover.
5.
Disconnect the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) electrical connector.
6.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the heatshield.
7.
- Remove the exhaust clamp bolt.
- Release the clamp.
8.
- Disconnect the 2 HO2S electrical connectors.
- Release the wiring harness from the clip.
The following step(s) applies to:
NAS vehicles
9.
- Remove the ground cable bolt.
- Reposition the ground cable away from the subframe.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
10.
- Release the hose clip.
- Release the Gasoline Particulate Filter (GPF) pressure sensor hose.
- Reposition the hose away from the exhaust.
11.
- Remove the 2 catalytic converter mounting bracket bolts.
12.
- Remove the catalytic converter and GPF assembly.
- Remove and discard the clamp.
- Remove and discard the gasket.
13.
CAUTION:
If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new sensor.
NOTE:
Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
INSTALLATION
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
1.
CAUTION:
If accidentally dropped or knocked install a new sensor.
NOTE:
This step is only required if previously removed.
- Use the special tool to install and tighten the 3 Heated Oxygen Sensors
(HO2S)
Special Tool(s): JLR-303-1666.
Torque: 48Nm

- Fully tighten the catalytic converter to turbocharger clamp.
Torque: 18Nm
- Fully tighten the 2 catalytic converter mounting bracket bolts.
Torque: 25Nm
4.
- Install the GPF differential pressure sensor pipe.
- Install the GPF differential pressure sensor pipe clip.
The following step(s) applies to:
NAS vehicles
5. Install and tighten the ground cable bolt.
Torque: 10Nm
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
6.
- Install the wiring harness into the clip.
- Connect the 2 HO2S electrical connectors.
7.
- Install the heatshield.
- Install and tighten the 2 heatshield bolts.
Torque: 8Nm
8. Connect the HO2S electrical connector.
9. Install the starter motor.
10. Install the exhaust system.
11. Install the engine cover.
