Land Rover Defender: Cruise Control Module
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
GENERAL EQUIPMENT
REMOVAL
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
2. Remove the radiator grille.
3.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the Cruise Control Module (CCM).
INSTALLATION
1.
- Install the CCM to the radiator grille.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
Torque: 3Nm
- Connect the electrical connector to the CCM.
2. Install the radiator grille.
3. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

NOTES:
- This step is only required if the component was removed for access.
- Choose a road with stationary objects on the roadside.
- Following vehicles too closely will obscure the stationary targets
from the radar, a gap of 2
seconds is recommended.
- Connect the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment.
General Equipment: Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment
- Select 'Cruise Control Module [CCM] - Service Alignment Mode' from the
diagnostic menu.
- Make sure that all steps from the on-screen instructions are followed.

NOTES:
- This step is only required if a new component is installed.
- Choose a road with stationary objects on the roadside.
- Following vehicles too closely will obscure the stationary targets
from the radar, a gap of 2
seconds is recommended.
- Connect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment.
General Equipment: Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment
- Select 'Cruise Control Module [CCM] - Replace ECU' from the diagnostic
menu.
- Make sure that all steps from the on-screen instructions are followed.
