Land Rover Defender: Driver Side Vent
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Do not use metal tools during this operation, removal of the component(s) must
be completed with a plastic
trim tool.
NOTES:

on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
2.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the instrument panel passenger side trim.
3.
CAUTION:
Take extra care not to damage the component.
Use a suitable plastic trim tool to release the passenger side trim panel at
8 clips.

- Disconnect the ambience lighting electrical connector.
- Release the wiring harness connector from the clip.
- Remove the passenger side trim panel.
5.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the instrument panel driver side trim.

CAUTION:
Take extra care not to damage the component.
- Use a suitable plastic trim tool to release the Instrument Cluster (IC)
upper trim panel at 6 clips.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the ambience lighting wiring
harness.
- Remove the IC upper trim panel.

- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the 4 screws.
- Remove the instrument panel upper surround trim at the 6 clips.
9. Remove the driver side A-pillar trim panel.

- Remove the bolt.
- Use a suitable plastic trim tool to remove the driver side vent at the 4
clips.
INSTALLATION
1.
- Install the driver side vent to the 4 clips.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
Torque: 1.7Nm
2. Install the driver side A-pillar trim panel.
3.
- Install the instrument panel upper surround trim to the 6 clips.
- Install and tighten the 4 screws.
Torque: 1.7Nm
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
Torque: 1.7Nm
4.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque: 1.7Nm

CAUTIONS:
- Make sure the electrical connector is correctly secured.
- Take extra care not to damage the component.
- Connect the electrical connector to the ambience lighting wiring
harness.
- Install the instrument cluster upper trim panel to the 6 clips.

NOTE:
Make sure that the bolts are centered in the bolt hole.
- Install the instrument panel driver side trim.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts as in illustrated sequence.
Torque: 2.5Nm
7.
CAUTIONS:
- Make sure the electrical connector is correctly secured.
- Take extra care not to damage the component.
- Connect the electrical connector to the ambience lighting wiring
harness.
- Install the wiring harness connector to the clip.
- Install the passenger side trim panel to the 8 clips.
8.
NOTE:
Make sure that the bolts are centered in the bolt hole.
- Install the instrument panel passenger side trim.
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts as in illustrated sequence.
Torque: 2.5Nm
9. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
