Land Rover Defender: HVAC Control Module
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
GENERAL EQUIPMENT
REMOVAL
NOTE:
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel lower trim.
3.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Release the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control
module assembly.
4.
- Release the 2 wiring harnesses clips.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors.
- Remove the HVAC control module assembly from the vehicle.
5.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the HVAC control module.
INSTALLATION
1.
- Install the Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) control
module.
- Install and tighten the 3 bolts.
Torque: 1.9Nm
2.
- Install the HVAC control module assembly to the vehicle.
- Secure the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Connect the 4 electrical connectors.
3.
- Reposition the HVAC control module assembly.
- Install and tighten the 3 bolts.
Torque: 9Nm
- Secure the wiring harness clip.
4. Install the instrument panel lower trim.
5. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
6.
NOTES:
- This step is only required if a new component is installed.
- SRO to be claimed separately.

depending upon the ambient lighting
conditions. The system selects the
appropriate lighting function, low beam
or Daytime Running Light (DRL), for the
conditions that the system detects. In
