Land Rover Defender: Main Wiring Harness - 110 - Removal

REMOVAL

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

NOTES:

1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

2. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

3. Remove both headlamps.

4. Remove both front wheel arch liners.

5. Remove both rear wheel arch liners.

6. Remove the left secondary bulkhead panel.

7. Remove the right secondary bulkhead panel.

8. Remove the fuel cooler.

The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles

9. Remove the Fuel Fired Booster Heater (FFBH) assembly.

10. Remove the instrument panel cross-car beam.

11. Remove the left second row seat.

12. Remove the right second row seat.

13. Remove the third row seat.

14. Remove the headliner.

15. Remove the left undershield.

16. Remove the right undershield.

17. Remove the rear bumper.

18. Remove the Central High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL).

Disconnect the exterior synthetic sounder electrical connector.

Disconnect the 4 electric power steering link harness electrical connectors.

  1. Remove and open the jump start terminal junction box access covers as illustrated.
  2. Remove the 2 jump start terminal battery cable nuts.

Disconnect the 3 jump start terminal electrical connectors.

  1. Remove the 2 bolts and release the jump start terminal.
  2. Remove the access cover and remove the lower battery cable nut. Remove the jump start terminal.
