REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
WARNING:
- To avoid accidental deployment, the Restraints Control Module (RCM)
backup power supply must be
depleted. Wait at least 1 minute after disconnecting the startup battery
ground cable(s) before doing any
repair or adjustment to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS), or any
component(s) adjacent to the
SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal
injury.
- Do not probe SRS electrical connectors.
CAUTION:
Make sure that excessive force is not used. Failure to follow this instruction
may result in damage to the
vehicle.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
- Right side illustration shown, left side is similar.
1.
NOTE:
The step must be completed on both sides.
Position the front row seat forward.
2. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
3. Make the SRS safe.
4.
- Release the 4 fasteners.
- Release the second row seat cushion.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Remove the second row seat cushion.
5. Remove the loadspace upper trim panel.
6.
- Release the trim panel from the 4 clips.
- Release the trim panel from the 2 locating pins.
7.
Remove the right second row seat backrest frame retaining bolt.
8.
Use a suitable tool to release the right second row seat backrest.
9.
- Release right second row seat backrest as illustrated.
- Disconnect the right second row seat backrest heating element electrical
connector.
- Remove the right second row seat backrest.
10.
NOTE:
The steps 10 to 15 for left side removal only.
Remove the second row seat center seatbelt anchor bolt.
11.
Fold the left second row seat backrest.
12.
- Release the trim panel from the 4 clips.
- Release the trim panel from the 2 locating pins.
13.
Remove the left second row seat backrest frame bolt.
14.
Use a suitable tool to release the left second row seat backrest.
15.
- Release left second row seat backrest as illustrated.
- Disconnect the left second row seat backrest heating element electrical
connector.
- Disconnect the second row center seatbelt electrical connector.
- Remove the right second row seat backrest.

NOTE:

- Release the 8 clips.
- Remove the passenger compartment.

NOTE:
Right side illustration shown, left side is similar.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the nut.
- Remove the 2 clips.

NOTE:
Right side illustration shown, left side is similar.
- Release the 12 clips.
- Release the rear quarter trim panel.

NOTE:
Right side illustration shown, left side is similar.
- Carefully reposition the rear quarter trim panel to get access to the
electrial connector.
- Release the electrical connector from the bracket.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Remove the rear quarter trim panel.
INSTALLATION
1.
- Connect the armrest ambience lighting electrical connector.
- Install the electrical connector to the bracket.
- Install the rear quarter trim panel.
2.
NOTE:
Make sure that the clips are installed in the correct orientation.
Install the 12 rear quarter trim panel clips.
3.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the door aperture seal is not stretched on installation.
NOTE:
Right side illustration shown, left side is similar.
Use the suitable tool to reposition the door aperture seal.
4.
- Install and tighten the 2 lower bolts.
Torque: 10Nm
- Install and tighten the nut.
Torque: 10Nm
- Install and tighten the 2 upper bolts.
- Install the 2 clips.
5.
- Reposition the passenger compartment into the correct location.
- Install the 8 clips.
6.
NOTE:
The steps 6 to 9 for left side removal only.
- Connect the left second row seat backrest heating element electrical
connector.
- Connect the left second row seat center seatbelt electrical connector.
- Install the left second row seat backrest.
7. Install the left second row seat frame access trim.
8. Reposition the left second row seat backrest.
9.
- Install and tighten the second row seat center seatbelt anchor bolt.
Torque: 40Nm
10.
- Connect the right second row seat backrest heating element electrical
connector.
- Install the right second row seat backrest.
11. Install and tighten the right second row seat backrest frame retaining
bolt.
Torque: 9Nm
12. Install the right second row seat frame access trim.
13. Reposition the right second row seat backrest.
14.
- Connect the 2 seat cushion heating element electrical connectors.
- Install the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Install the second row seat cushion.
15. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
16.
NOTE:
The step must be completed on both sides.
Reposition the front row seat to center position.
