Land Rover Defender: Auxilliary Thermostatic Expansion Valve
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from
foreign material. When
disconnected all components must be sealed.
NOTES:

removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
2. Remove the auxiliary climate control assembly.
3.
- Release the wiring harness from the clip.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the auxiliary Thermostatic Expansion Valve (TXV) cover.
4.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the auxiliary TXV.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the spacer.
- Remove and discard the 2 O-ring seals.
5.
- Remove the auxiliary TXV.
- Remove and discard the 2 O-ring seals.
INSTALLATION
1.
NOTE:
Lubricate the O-ring seals with clean refrigerant oil.
2.
- Connect the electrical connector to the auxiliary TXV.
- Install the auxiliary TXV cover.
- Install and tighten the screw.
Torque: 1.2Nm
- Install the wiring harness to the clip.
3. Install the auxiliary climate control assembly.
4. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
