6.
WARNING:
Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
CAUTION:
- Make sure the CVVL solenoids do not support the weight of the CVVL
assembly.
- Do not invert the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) assembly.
Failure to follow this
instruction may result in damage to the CVVL assembly.
- Remove the 8 bolts in the illustrated sequence.
- Remove the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) assembly.
- If the CVVL assembly is being replaced under warranty, make sure that an
engine oil sample is taken
and the data sheet is completed and sent back with the returned CVVL
assembly.
7.
NOTE:
- This step is only required if the CVVL is removed for access, and not
being replaced with a
new CVVL assembly.
- Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access
only.
- Components shown inverted for clarity.
Remove and discard the gasket.
8.
CAUTION:
Take extra care when handling the component.
NOTE:
This step is only required if the CVVL is removed for access, and not being

position.
- Install the Continuous Variable Valve Lift (CVVL) assembly.
- Install, but do not fully tighten the 8 bolts.
3.
Tighten the 2 bolts in the illustrated sequence until contact between the
bolt head and the CVVL assembly
has been made, and then further tighten the 2 bolts 2 full revolutions.
4.
Tighten the 2 bolts in the illustrated sequence.

12.
- Crank the engine for a 10 seconds.
- Allow the starter motor to cool for 5 seconds.
- Repeat this step 4 times until suitable oil pressure is obtained within
the CVVL assembly to allow the
vehicle to start.
13. Connect the electrical connector to the fuel injector wiring harness.
14. Use the approved Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) diagnostic equipment to read and
clear any Diagnostic Trouble
Codes (DTCs).
