REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
GENERAL EQUIPMENT

REMOVAL
WARNING: Be prepared to collect escaping fluid.
CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
2. Drain the differential.
3. Remove both the rear halfshafts.
4. Remove the rear silencer.
5. Disconnect the rear driveshaft.

Disconnect the breather pipe.

NOTE: If equipped.
Disconnect the differential locking motor electrical connector.
10.
Use a suitable transmission jack to support the rear differential case.
General Equipment: Transmission jack
11.
Remove and discard the 2 differential rear bush bolts.
12.
INSTALLATION
1.
General Equipment: Transmission jack
Renew Part: Differential case front bolt(s) Quantity: 2.
Renew Part: Differential case nut(s) Quantity: 2.
Torque: 110Nm
2.
Renew Part: Differential case rear bolts Quantity: 2.
Torque: 170Nm
3. Remove the supporting stand.
4.
NOTE: If equipped.
Connect the differential locking motor electrical connector.
5. Connect the breather pipe.
6.
Renew Part: Rear stabilizer bar to subframe bolts Quantity: 2.
Renew Part: Rear stabilizer bar to subframe nuts Quantity: 2.
Torque
7.
Torque: 9Nm
8.
Renew Part: Driveshaft to rear differential bolts Quantity: 6.
Torque: 73Nm
9. Install the rear silencer.
10. Install both the rear halfshafts.
11. Fill the differential.
