REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.

NOTES:

This procedure contains illustrations for right hand drive vehicles, left hand drive vehicles are similar.
This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components removed to provide extra clarity.
This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending on the vehicle specification, but the essential information is always correct.

Emergency Key Barrel

Open the driver door.
Remove the access plug.
Loosen the screw, but do not fully remove.

Emergency Key Barrel

Pull the driver door exterior handle.
Remove the emergency key barrel.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

Emergency Key Barrel

Release the 3 clips.
Remove the emergency key barrel cover.

INSTALLATION

1. Install the front emergency key barrel cover.

Pull the driver door exterior handle.
Install the emergency key barrel.

Tighten the screw.
Install the access plug.
Close the driver door.

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION REMOVAL WARNINGS: To avoid accidental deployment, the Restraints Control Module (RCM) backup power supply must be depleted. Wait at least 2 minutes after disconnecting the startup battery ground cable(s) before doing any repair or adjustment to the Supplementary Rest
