Land Rover Defender: Front Row Seat Backrest Blower
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
WARNINGS:
- To avoid accidental deployment, the Restraints Control Module (RCM)
backup power supply must be
depleted. Wait at least 2 minutes after disconnecting the startup battery
ground cable(s) before doing any
repair or adjustment to the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS), or any
component(s) adjacent to the
SRS sensors. Failure to follow these instructions may result in personal
injury.
- Do not probe the SRS electrical connectors.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Remove the front row seat.
2. Make the SRS safe.
3.
Release the 2 lower backrest cover clips.
4.
- Release the 3 lower backrest clips.
- Release the backrest cover from the 5 clips.
- Remove the backrest cover as illustrated.
5.
Release the seat backrest cover rear clip.
6.
- Disconnect the blower motor electrical connector.
- Release the 2 blower motor clips.
7.
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the front row seat backrest blower motor.
INSTALLATION
1.
- Install the front row seat backrest blower motor.
- Install and tighten the 3 screws.
2.
- Install the blower motor to the 2 clips.
- Connect the electrical connector.
3. Install the seat backrest cover rear clip.
4.
- Install the backrest cover as illustrated.
- Install the backrest cover to the 5 clips.
- Install the 3 lower backrest clips.
5. Install the 2 lower backrest cover clips.
6. Install the front row seat.
