Land Rover Defender: Front Door Latch

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

CAUTION: Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.

NOTES:

1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

2. Remove the front door window regulator.

Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the exterior door handle assembly.

Remove the front door exterior handle as illustrated.

NOTE: Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.

Release the 2 plugs as illustrated.

Disconnect the interior door release cable from the door latch.

INSTALLATION

1.

Front Door Latch

2. Connect the interior door release cable to the door latch.

3.

Front Door Latch

Install the front door latch lower cover to the latch.

4.

Front Door Latch

Install the front door latch upper cover to the latch.

5. Move the 2 plugs in to the original position.

8. Install the front door exterior handle.

12. Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the exterior door handle assembly.

13. Install the front door window regulator.

14. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
