Land Rover Defender: Front Row Seat Wiring Harness
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
WARNINGS:
- To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury, the
backup power supply must be depleted
before repairing or replacing any airbag Supplementary Restraint System
(SRS) components. To deplete
the backup power supply energy, disconnect the battery ground cable and wait
for 1 minute. Failure to
follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
- Do not probe the SRS electrical connectors.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Make the SRS system safe.
2. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
3. Remove the front row seat cushion cover.
4. Remove the lumbar assembly.
5. Remove the front row seatbelt buckle.
6.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Release the wiring harness clip from the seat base.
7.
- Release the 4 clips.
- Remove the seat base.
8.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the seat track position sensor.
9.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Release the 2 seat base tray clips.
10.
NOTE:
Note the orientation of the wiring harness prior to removal.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
- Release the 5 wiring harness clips.
11.
Release the 4 wiring harness clips.

NOTE:
Note the orientation of the wiring harness prior to removal.
Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
13.
NOTE:

Remove the wiring harness assembly from the seat.
14.
- Disconnect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
15.
Release the 4 wiring harness clips.
16.
Release the 3 electrical connectors from the seat tray.

NOTE:
Note the orientation of the wiring harness prior to removal.
Remove the front row seat wiring harness.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install the front row seat wiring harness.
2.
Install the 3 electrical connectors to the seat tray.
3.
Install the 4 wiring harness clips.
4.
- Connect the 3 electrical connectors.
- Install the wiring harness clip.
5.
Install the wiring harness assembly to the seat.
6.
Install the 2 wiring harness clips.
7.
Install the 4 wiring harness clips.
8.
- Install the 5 wiring harness clips.
- Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
9.
- Install the seat base tray to the 2 clips.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque: 5Nm
10.
- Connect the electrical connector to the seat track position sensor.
- Install the wiring harness clip.
11.
- Install the seat base.
- Install the 4 clips.
12.
- Install the wiring harness clip to the seat base.
- Install the 2 wiring harness clips.
- Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
13. Install the front row seatbelt buckle.
14. Install the lumbar assembly.
15. Install the front row seat cushion cover.
16. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
