Land Rover Defender: Head Up Display
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
GENERAL EQUIPMENT
REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Take extra care not to damage the Head Up Display (HUD) lens when removing or
installing the component.
NOTES:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
2. Remove the instrument panel upper section.
3.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the face level vent duct of the driver side.
4.
- Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the Head Up Display (HUD).
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Remove the HUD.
INSTALLATION
1.
CAUTION:
If a new Head Up Display (HUD) is installed, after installation make sure that
the protection cover
is removed from the lens using the protection cover pull tab.
- Install the Head Up Display (HUD).
- Install and tighten the 4 bolts.
Torque: 5Nm
- Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the HUD.

- Install the face level vent duct of the driver side.
- Install and tighten the screw.
Torque: 2.2Nm
3. Install the instrument panel upper section.
4. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

NOTES:
- This step is only required if a new component is installed.
- SRO to be claimed separately.
