REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

GENERAL EQUIPMENT

REMOVAL

NOTE:

1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2-post lift.

2. Remove the rear wheel tire and assembly.

Release the height sensor from the rear lower control arm.

Use a suitable stand to support the lower control arm.

General Equipment: Transmission jack

Remove and discard the shock absorber to wheel knuckle nut and bolt.

Remove and discard the 2 integral link nuts and bolts.

CAUTION: Make sure that during the release of the wheel knuckle assembly, the halfshaft is not released from the differential.

NOTE: Note the orientation of the component prior to removal.

Remove and discard the nut and bolt.

INSTALLATION

1.

3. Install the 2 lower control arm to subframe bolts and nuts.

Renew Part: Rear lower arm to subframe nut and bolt Quantity: 2.

Torque

CAUTION: Only tighten the nuts and bolts when the suspension is at the normal ride height. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.

CAUTION: Only tighten the nuts and bolts when the suspension is at the normal ride height. Failure to follow this instruction may result in damage to the vehicle.

7. Install 2 new integral link bolts and nuts.

Renew Part: Rear lower arm to knuckle nut and bolt Quantity: 1.

Torque

8. Install the tie-rod to the wheel knuckle assembly.

Renew Part: Tie-rod nut and bolt Quantity: 1.

Torque

9. Install the shock absorber new nut and bolt to wheel knuckle.

Renew Part: Shock absorber to wheel knuckle mounting nut and bolt Quantity: 1.

Torque: 170Nm

10. Install the height sensor link.

11. Install the rear wheel and tire.

12. Use approved Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) wheel alignment equipment to inspect the wheel alignment and adjust if required.
