Land Rover Defender: Rear Window Wiper Motor
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
NOTES:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Remove the rear window wiper arm.
2. Remove the tailgate trim panel.
3.
NOTE:
Be prepared to collect the escaping fluid.
- Disconnect the rear window washer jet hose from the rear window wiper
motor.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear window wiper motor.
4.
- Remove the 3 nuts.
- Remove the rear window wiper motor.
INSTALLATION
1.
- Install the rear window wiper motor.
- Install and tighten the 3 nuts.
Torque: 8Nm
2.
- Connect the electrical connector to the rear window wiper motor.
- Connect the rear washer hose to the rear window wiper motor.
3. Install the tailgate trim panel.
4. Install the rear window wiper arm.

The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
1. Install the main wiring harness.
2.
Install the wiring harness grommet.
Install the 4 wiring harness clips.
Connect the 2 SOTA antenna link harness electrical connectors.
3.
Connect the 6 roof pod electrical connectors.

CAUTION:
Only Jaguar Land Rover approved wheel and tire balancing equipment must be used
during this
procedure.
NOTES:
If a retailer sub-contracts tire replacement and/or balancing the
contractor must be suitably
equipped with the JLR approved wheel and tire balancing
