Land Rover Defender: Second Row Seat - 90

REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL

WARNINGS:

NOTES:

1.

NOTE: This step must be carried out on both sides of the vehicle.

Second Row Seat - 90

Position the front row seats forward.

2. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.

3. Make the Supplementary Restraint System (SRS) safe.

  1. Release the 4 fasteners.
  2. Release the second row seat cushion.
  3. Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
  4. Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
  5. Remove the second row seat cushion.

Release the 2 MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle) battery cooling duct fasteners.

Fold the right second row seat backrest.

Remove the right second row seat backrest frame access trim.

Remove the right second row seat backrest frame bolt.

Use a suitable tool to release the right second row seat backrest.

Remove the second row seat center seatbelt anchor bolt.

Fold the left second row seat backrest.

Remove the left second row seat backrest frame access trim.

Remove the left second row seat backrest frame bolt.

Use a suitable tool to release the left second row seat backrest.

  1. Release left second row seat backrest as illustrated.
  2. Disconnect the left second row seat backrest heating element electrical connector.
  3. Disconnect the second row center seatbelt electrical connector.
  4. Remove left second row seat backrest.

Remove the 3 fasteners.

Remove the 2 second row seat cushion frame bolts.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the surrounding trim panels.

NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

INSTALLATION

1.

CAUTION: Take extra care not to damage the surrounding trim panels.

NOTE: This step requires the aid of another technician.

4. Install and tighten the left second row seat backrest frame retaining bolt.

Torque: 9Nm

5. Install the left second row seat frame access trim.

6. Reposition the left second row seat backrest.

7. Install and tighten the second row seat center seatbelt anchor bolt.

Torque: 40Nm

9. Install and tighten the right second row seat backrest frame retaining bolt.

Torque: 9Nm

10. Install the right second row seat frame access trim.

11. Reposition the right second row seat backrest.

12. Install the 2 MHEV (Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle) battery cooling duct fasteners.

15. Connect the startup battery ground cable.

NOTE: This step must be carried out on both sides of the vehicle.

Reposition the front row seats to the center position.
