Land Rover Defender: Transfer Case Draining and Filling

Transfer Case Draining and Filling

DRAINING

CAUTION: Be prepared to collect escaping fluids.

NOTE:

1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

2. Remove the left undershield.

3. Position a container to collect the fluid.

4.

CAUTION: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.

5. Allow the fluid to drain.

CAUTION: Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of foreign material.

3. Fill the transfer case with the correct specification of fluid, until the fluid is level with the bottom of the filler plug hole.

5. Clean the area around the filler plug, wipe away any excess fluid and remove the container.

6. Install the left undershield.
