Land Rover Defender: Upper Control Arm
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride height. Failure to
follow this instruction may
result in damage to the component.
NOTES:
- This procedure contains illustrations for left side components, right
side components are similar.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2-post lift.
2. Remove the rear left wheel and tire assembly.
3.
- Release the 2 wiring harnesses at 4 clips.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Release the brake pipe from the upper control arm.

- Remove and discard the nut and bolt.
- Remove the upper control arm.
INSTALLATION
1.
CAUTIONS:
- Nuts and bolts must be tightened with vehicle at normal ride
height.
- Do not tighten the nuts and bolts more than 180 Nm. Failure to
follow this instruction will result
in damage to the components.
2.
- Secure the 2 wiring harnesses at 4 clips to the upper control arm.
- Secure the brake pipe to the upper control arm.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10Nm
3. Install the rear left wheel and tire assembly.
