GENERAL EQUIPMENT
REMOVAL
NOTES:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustration showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2-post lift.
2. Remove the rear wheel knuckle.
3.
Use the special tools to remove the wheel hub.
Special Tool(s): JLR-204-811, 204-726
General Equipment: Hydraulic press
4.
Use the suitable tools to move the bearing race until a suitable gap opens
up.
General Equipment: Vise
General Equipment: Chisel
5.
Use the special tool to remove the bearing race from the wheel hub.
Special Tool(s): 204-305
General Equipment: Hydraulic press
6.
Clean and inspect the wheel hub for deterioration.

NOTE:
Note the orientation of the circlip prior to removal.
Remove the circlip.
8.
CAUTION:
Note the orientation of the component prior to removal.
Use the special tool to remove the wheel bearing from the wheel knuckle.

9.
Clean and inspect the wheel knuckle for deterioration.
INSTALLATION
1.
CAUTIONS:
- Make sure that the area around the component is clean and free of
foreign material.
- Make sure that these components are installed to the noted removal
position.
Use the special tools to install the new wheel bearing.
Special Tool(s): JLR-204-807, JLR-204-812
General Equipment: Hydraulic press
2.
NOTE:
Make sure that the circlip is installed to the noted removal position.
Install the circlip.
3.
Use the special tools to install the wheel hub.
Special Tool(s): 204-726

4. Install the rear wheel knuckle.
