Brake System Bleeding Floating Caliper

CHECK

CAUTION: Brake fluid will damage paint finished surfaces. If spilled, immediately remove the fluid and clean the area with water.

NOTE:

1. Connect the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment and set the Integrated Power Brake to the assembly mode.

2. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

3. Check that the brake fluid lines are secure and that there are no signs of a brake fluid leak. If a brake fluid leak is detected, investigate and rectify the cause of the leak before bleeding the brakes.

4. Remove the brake fluid reservoir cover from the cowl panel.

ADJUSTMENT

CAUTION: Brake fluid will damage paint finished surfaces. If spilled, immediately remove the fluid and clean the area with water.

NOTE:

Install the pressure bleed equipment to the brake fluid reservoir.

NOTE: The assistance of another technician will be required during the bleed procedure.

WARNING:

Connect the bleed hose again to the bleed screw of caliper number 1 shown in the illustration.

CAUTION: The following sequence must be completed a minimum of 5 times for each of the Electric Park Brake (EPB) calipers.

Repeat step 6 on brake caliper number 4 shown in the illustration.

10. Connect the JLR approved diagnostic equipment and complete the 'Leakage And Air Monitoring' procedure.

11. Use the JLR approved diagnostic equipment and disable the Integrated Power Brake module assembly mode.

14. Install the brake fluid reservoir cover to the cowl panel.
