Land Rover Defender: Canvas Roof Inner Canvas
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
WARNING:
Make sure the ignition is OFF before carrying out this procedure.
CAUTIONS:
- Do not remove the windshield.
- Take extra care not to damage any components on removal.
NOTES:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1.
Open the canvas roof approximately of 350mm.
2.
NOTE:
Release and lower the headliner to gain access for canvas roof removal.
Release and lower the headliner.
3.
- Release the inner canvas front section at the 5 clips as illustrated.
- Release the inner canvas 2 side sections as illustrated.
4.
- Remove the 4 bolts.
- Unhook the 2 belts from the 2 clips.
- Release the outer canvas front section.
5.
- Remove the 5 bolts.
- Release the outer canvas rear section.
6.
NOTE:
Repeat this step on the other side.
- Remove the screw.
- Release the inner and the outer canvas belts.
7.
Release the inner canvas rear section from the frame.
8.
NOTE:
This step requires the aid of another technician.
Remove the canvas from the guide rail.
9.
Release the 7 fasteners.
10.
Remove the inner canvas from the outer canvas as illustrated.
INSTALLATION
1.
Install the inner canvas to the outer canvas as illustrated.
2.
Install the 7 fasteners.
3.
NOTE:
This step requires the aid of another technician.
Install the canvas to the guide rail.
4.
Install the inner canvas rear section to the frame.
5.
NOTE:
Repeat this step on the other side.
- Install the inner canvas belt as illustrated.
- Install the outer canvas belt.
- Install and tighten the screw.
Torque: 2.2Nm
6.
- Install the outer canvas rear section.
- Install and tighten the 5 screws.
Torque: 4.5Nm
7.
- Install the outer canvas front section.
- Hook the 2 belts to the 2 clips.
- Install and tighten the 4 screws.
Torque: 5.7Nm
8.
- Install the inner canvas 2 side sections as illustrated.
- Install the inner canvas front section at the 5 clips as illustrated.
9. Install the headliner.
10. Close the canvas roof.
