Land Rover Defender: Electric Supercharger To Front Junction Box Cables
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
GENERAL EQUIPMENT
REMOVAL
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
- Note the position of the cables to aid installation.
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
2. Power down the Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) system.
3. Remove the engine cover.
4. Remove the secondary bulkhead center panel.
5.
Release the 2 breather pipes from the clip.
6.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the electric supercharger.
- Remove the bracket bolt.
- Remove the ground bolt.

CAUTION:
Make sure there is no tension on the coolant hoses when the oil cooler is
removed. Use suitable
equipment to support the oil cooler.
8.
- Remove the 2 fasteners.
- Release the clip.
- Release the coolant hoses from the bracket.
9.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the MHEV battery junction box.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Remove the bolt.
10. Remove the rear driveshaft.
11. Remove the front driveshaft.
12.
Lower the height of the transmission jack by 20 mm.
General Equipment: Transmission jack
13.
- Release the 2 breather pipes from the 2 clips.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Release the wiring harness bracket.
14.
Remove the MHEV battery junction box to electric supercharger cables.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the MHEV battery junction box to electric supercharger cables.
2.
- Install the wiring harness bracket.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10Nm
- Install the 2 breather pipes to the 2 clips.
3. Raise the transmission jack.
4. Install the front driveshaft.
5. Install the rear driveshaft.
6.
- Connect the electrical connector to the MHEV battery junction box.
- Install the wiring harness clip.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
Torque: 10Nm
7.
- Install the coolant hoses to the bracket.
- Install the clip.
- Install the 2 fasteners.
8.
- Install the oil cooler.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
Torque: 10Nm
9.
- Install and tighten the ground bolt.
Torque: 12Nm
- Install and tighten the bracket bolt.
Torque: 48Nm
- Connect the electrical connector to the electric supercharger.
10. Install the 2 breather pipes to the clip.
11. Install the secondary bulkhead center panel.
12. Install the engine cover.
13. Power up the Mild Hybrid Electric Vehicle (MHEV) system.
