REMOVAL
CAUTION:
- Be prepared to collect escaping fuel.
- Protect the surrounding paintwork to avoid damage.
- Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and
free from foreign material. When
disconnected all openings must be sealed.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the

- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Always follow the fuel system health and safety precautions when doing any
repairs to the fuel system.
2. Remove the second row seat.
3. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
4. Remove the rear quarter trim panel.
5.
Reposition the carpet for access.
6.
Reposition the Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) material.
7.
- Reposition the wiring harness away from the fuel tank access panel.
- Remove the 5 nuts.
- Release fuel tank access panel.
- Reposition the wiring harness to get access to the fuel tank.
8.
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors from the fuel pump module.
9.
- Disconnect the breather pipe.
- Disconnect the 2 fuel lines.
10.
Use the special tool to remove the fuel pump module retaining ring.
Special Tool(s): 310-123
11.
Note the installed position of the fuel pump module before removal.
12.
- Reposition the fuel pump module to get access to the electrical
connector.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
13.
- Disconnect the fuel line from the fuel pump module.
- Remove the fuel pump module.
14.
Remove and discard the O-ring seal.
INSTALLATION
1.
CAUTION:
Make sure that the seal is correctly positioned. Failure to follow this
instruction may result in
damage to the vehicle.
Install a new O-ring seal to the fuel pump module.
Renew Part: Fuel pump O-ring seal Quantity: 1.
2.
- Install the fuel pump module to the fuel tank.
- Connect the fuel line.
- Connect the electrical connector.
3.
- Make sure the fuel pump module is correctly aligned.
- Use the special tool to install the fuel pump module retaining ring.
Special Tool(s): 310-123
4. Connect the 2 fuel lines.
5. Connect the breather pipe to the fuel tank.
6. Connect the 2 electrical connectors to the fuel pump module.
7.
- Reposition the fuel tank access panel and wiring harness.
- Install and tighten the 5 nuts.
Torque: 6Nm
8.
- Reposition the NVH material into the correct location.
- Reposition the rear floor carpet into the correct location.
9. Install the rear quarter trim panel.
10. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
11. Install the second row seat.

using All Terrain Progress Control
(ATPC).
ATPC can be enabled when the vehicle is
stationary or moving. When enabled, the
system defaults to descent control mode.
The ATPC button is located on the front
control panel. The
