Land Rover Defender: MHEV Pass Through Assembly To Front Junction Box Cables
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
CAUTION:
Do not allow the cables to hang unsupported.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustration depending
on the vehicle specification, but
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
2. Remove the rear subframe assembly.
3.
- Remove the 20 bolts.
- Remove the transmission undershield cover.
4.
- Remove the 8 bolts.
- Remove the transmission undershield.

NOTE:
This step contains information for the following step(s).
- Disengage the locking device.
- Press and hold the 2 lever locking tabs.
- Release the lever to disconnect the electrical connector.
6.
- Disconnect the MHEV cable front electrical connector.
- Release the 2 clips.
7.
- Release the MHEV cable from the clip.
- Disconnect the MHEV cable rear electrical connector.
8.
- Remove the bolt.
- Release the 2 MHEV cable front clips.
9.
Release the 5 MHEV cable center clips.
10.
Remove the 3 MHEV cable center bolts.
11.
- Remove the MHEV cable rear bolt.
- Remove the MHEV cable rear nut.
- Release the 3 MHEV cable rear clips.

CAUTION:
This step requires the aid of another technician.
Remove the MHEV pass through assembly to front junction box cables.
INSTALLATION
1.
CAUTION:
This step requires the aid of another technician.
Install the MHEV pass through assembly to front junction box cables.
2.
- Install and tighten the MHEV cable rear bolt.
Torque: 10Nm
- Install and tighten the MHEV cable rear nut.
Torque: 10Nm
- Install the 3 MHEV cable rear clips.
3. Install and tighten the 3 MHEV cable center bolts.
Torque: 10Nm
4. Install the 5 MHEV cable center clips.
5.
- Install the 2 MHEV cable front clips.
- Install and tighten the bolt.
Torque: 10Nm
6.
- Connect the MHEV cable rear electrical connector.
- Install the MHEV cable to the clip.
7.
- Connect the MHEV cable front electrical connector.
- Install the 2 clips.
8.
- Install the transmission undershield.
- Install and tighten the 8 bolts.
Torque: 60Nm
9.
- Install the transmission undershield cover.
- Install and tighten the 20 bolts.
Torque: 10Nm
10. Install the rear subframe assembly.
