REMOVAL

CAUTION: Before disconnecting any components, make sure the area is clean and free from foreign material. When disconnected all openings must be sealed.

NOTE:

1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.

2. Drain the rear differential.

3. Remove the rear wheel knuckle.

Rear Halfshaft Seal

Remove the rear halfshaft.

5.

Rear Halfshaft Seal

Remove and discard the circlip.

Renew Part: Circlip Quantity: 1.

6.

Rear Halfshaft Seal

Use the special tools to remove and discard the rear halfshaft seal.

Special Tool(s): 308-005, 100-012

INSTALLATION

1.

Rear Halfshaft Seal

2. Install a new circlip.

3.

CAUTION: The seal protector must be left in place until the halfshaft has been installed.

Rear Halfshaft Seal

Pull on the halfshaft inboard joint to make sure the clip has fully engaged and retains the halfshaft inboard joint within the differential case.

5. Install the rear wheel knuckle.

6. Refill the rear differential.
