Land Rover Defender: Rear Proximity Camera
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
NOTES:

- The ignition must be switched off.
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2-post lift.
2. With assistance, remove the rear bumper.
3.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the rear proximity camera.
4.
- Remove the 3 screws.
- Remove the rear proximity camera assembly.
5.
NOTE:
Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
- Release the 2 clips.
- Remove the rear proximity camera from the bracket.
INSTALLATION
1.
NOTE:
Make sure that the rear proximity camera is correctly located to the bracket.
Audible clicks will be
heard to confirm the connection.
Install the rear proximity camera to the bracket.
2.
- Install the rear proximity camera assembly.
- Install and tighten the 3 screws.
Torque: 10Nm
- Connect the electrical connector to the rear proximity camera.
3. With assistance, install the rear bumper.
4.
NOTE:
Make sure that the camera calibration cycle is completed following removal or
replacement of the
proximity camera.
- Proximity camera calibration:
- To complete the side camera proximity calibration, drive the vehicle in
a city like or rural scenario with
sufficient visual structure for approximately 5-10 minutes.
- Drive straight ahead between 5 and 60 km/h (3 and 37 mph), with a
sufficient side cameras free field
of view of around 5 meters.
