Land Rover Defender: Rear Suspension Height Sensor
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
GENERAL EQUIPMENT
REMOVAL
NOTES:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
- This procedure contains illustrations for left side components, right
side components are similar.
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2 post lift.
2. Remove the wheel and tire.
3.
- Disconnect the electrical connector.
- Release the 2 wiring harness from the bracket.
- Release the electrical connector from the bracket.
4.
- Disconnect the rear suspension height sensor link from the rear lower
control arm.
- Remove the 2 bolts.
- Remove the rear suspension height sensor with the bracket.
5.
NOTE:
Do not disassemble further if the component is removed for access only.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Remove the rear suspension height sensor from the bracket.
INSTALLATION
1.
- Install the rear suspension height sensor to the bracket.
- Install and tighten the 2 screws.
Torque: 3.25Nm
2.
- Install the rear suspension height sensor with the bracket to the
vehicle.
- Install and tighten the 2 bolts.
Torque: 10Nm
- Connect the rear suspension height sensor link to the rear lower control
arm.
- Connect the electrical connector.
- Secure the 2 wiring harness to the bracket.
- Secure the electrical connector to the bracket.
3. Install the wheel and tire.
4. Use the Jaguar Land Rover (JLR) approved diagnostic equipment to calibrate
the suspension ride height.
