Land Rover Defender: Distribution Motor - Left Front Face/Feet
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
NOTES:

removed to provide extra clarity.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
1. Disconnect the startup battery ground cable.
The following step(s) applies to:
Left hand drive vehicles
2. Remove the instrument panel lower trim.
3.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the air duct temperature
sensor.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the front left footwell air duct.
4.
- Disconnect the 4 electrical connectors from the HVAC control module
(HVAC).
- Release the 2 wiring harness clips.
5.
- Release the wiring harness clip.
- Remove the 3 bolts.
- Remove the HVAC bracket.
The following step(s) applies to:
Right hand drive vehicles
6. Remove the glovebox.
7.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the air duct temperature
sensor.
- Remove the clip.
- Remove the screw.
- Remove the front left footwell air duct.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
8.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the left front face/feet
distribution motor.
- Remove the 2 screws.
- Remove the front left face/feet distribution motor.
INSTALLATION
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
1.
- Install the front left face/feet distribution motor.
- Install and tighten the 2 screws.
Torque: 1.2Nm
- Connect the electrical connector to the front left face/feet
distribution motor.
The following step(s) applies to:
Left hand drive vehicles
2.
- Install the HVAC control module (HVAC) bracket.
- Install and tighten the 3 bolts.
Torque: 5Nm
- Secure the 3 wiring harness clips.
- Connect the 4 electrical connectors to the HVAC.
3.
- Install the front left footwell air duct.
- Install and tighten the screw.
Torque: 1.2Nm
- Connect the electrical connector to the air duct temperature sensor.
4. Install the instrument panel lower trim.
The following step(s) applies to:
Right hand drive vehicles
5.
- Install the front left footwell air duct.
- Install and tighten the screw.
Torque: 1.2Nm
- Install the clip.
- Connect the electrical connector to the air duct temperature sensor.
6. Install the glovebox.
The following step(s) applies to:
All vehicles
7. Connect the startup battery ground cable.
