Land Rover Defender: Front Inner Parking Aid Sensor
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
NOTES:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending

- The ignition must be switched off.
1. Raise and support the vehicle on a suitable 2-post lift.
2. With assistance, remove the front bumper.
3.
Disconnect the electrical connector from the front inner parking aid sensor.
4.
Release the 2 clips and remove the front inner parking aid sensor.
INSTALLATION
1.
CAUTIONS:
- If a new parking aid sensor is installed, make sure that the membrane
and the cylindrical edge
of the membrane must be covered with a paint layer of at least 2 mm all the
way around as
illustrated.
- The whole paint film thickness on the membranes is up to a maximum of
120 micrometers
(including the electro-coated layer) to make sure a proper sensor function.
- This is also valid for the multiple layer paints.
Check the paint layer of the parking aid sensor.
2.
CAUTIONS:
- Inspect the ring, replace if damaged.
- Make sure that the ring is correctly located to the sensor.
Before installing the front inner parking aid sensor, check the condition and
the position of the ring.
3.
NOTE:
Make sure that the sensor is correctly located to the bracket. Audible clicks
will be heard to
confirm connection.
- Install the front inner parking aid sensor.
- Connect the electrical connector to the front inner parking aid sensor.
4. With assistance, install the front bumper.
