Land Rover Defender: Lumbar Assembly
REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION
REMOVAL
WARNINGS:
- To avoid accidental deployment and possible personal injury, the
backup power supply must be depleted
before repairing or replacing any airbag Supplementary Restraint System
(SRS) components. To deplete
the backup power supply energy, disconnect the battery ground cable and wait
for 1 minute. Failure to
follow this instruction may result in personal injury.
- Do not probe the SRS electrical connectors.
NOTE:
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
1. Make the SRS safe.
2. Remove the front row seat backrest cover.
3.
Disconnect the 2 electrical connectors.
4.
NOTE:
Repeat the step for the other side.
- Remove the 3 clips.
- Release the lumbar assembly from the clip.
5.
Release the lumbar assembly from the 4 lower supports.
6.
NOTE:
Repeat the step for the other side.
Release the lumbar assembly from the 2 side supports.
7.
Remove the lumbar assembly.
INSTALLATION
1. Install the lumbar assembly.
2.
NOTE:
Repeat the step for the other side.
Install the lumbar assembly to the 2 side supports.
3. Install the lumbar assembly to the 4 lower supports.
4.
NOTE:
Repeat the step for the other side.
- Install the 3 clips.
- Install the lumbar assembly to the clip.
5. Connect the 2 electrical connectors.
6. Install the front row seat backrest cover.
