GENERAL EQUIPMENT
PART(S)
ACTIVATION
CAUTIONS:
- Adjustments must completed on both sides of the vehicle.
- Adjustments must be even on both sides of the vehicle.
NOTES:
- Only use calibrated wheel alignment equipment recommended by Jaguar
Land Rover.
- A change in camber or castor means a change in toe, therefore camber
and castor must always be
adjusted before adjusting the toe (only where adjustable).
- Make sure the steering wheel is in the straight ahead position.
- This procedure contains some variation in the illustrations depending
on the vehicle specification, but the
essential information is always correct.
- This procedure contains illustrations showing certain components
removed to provide extra clarity.
The following step(s) applies to: All vehicles
1. Note the correct geometry values before completing this procedure.
2.
- Check the tie rod ends, suspension joints, wheel bearings and wheels and
tires for damage, wear and
excessive free play. Check and adjust the tire pressures.
- Replace any excessively worn components before completing this
procedure.
3. Roll the vehicle backward and forward to settle the steering and
suspension.
4.
- Position the vehicle on a flat and level surface.
- Release the vehicle parking brake.

5. Set the vehicle to air suspension manual tight tolerance setting mode.
The following step(s) applies to:
Hybrid electric vehicles only

CAUTION:
This step must be completed to prevent damage to the vehicle.
Use the Jaguar Land Rover approved diagnostic equipment to activate the Brake
Booster Module (BBM) to
service mode.

7. Install the Jaguar Land Rover approved wheel alignment equipment.
The following step(s) applies to:
Rear wheel alignment
8.
Renew the rear toe link locking nuts.
Renew Part: Toe link nut Quantity: 2.
9.
Adjust the rear wheel toe. Note the readings from the steering geometry test
equipment and adjust the
geometry as required.
10.
Tighten the rear toe link locking nuts.
Torque

Front wheel alignment

CAUTIONS:
- To prevent damage to the tie rods, use an additional wrench when
loosening or tightening the
components.
- Do not allow the steering gear boot to twist.
Loosen the front tie rod locking nuts.

Adjust the front wheel toe. Note the readings from the steering geometry test
equipment and adjust the
geometry as required.
13.
Tighten the front tie rod locking nuts.
Torque: 76Nm
